Sydney's CBD/SE light rail project has become an unmitigated planning disaster, with a litany of tales about bad planning, budget overruns and poor goverance.   

From the unnecessary felling of many of Sydney's most significant fig trees along Anzac Parade, to cost blow outs and construction delays, the latest media revelations highlights a project gone wrong. 

Now the contractor and the government are in a legal battle, with a potential $1 Billion plus claim.  In short, what should be the City's pride and joy is a planning disaster.

Recent news that the Appeal Panel of the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal has blocked the release of key documents about the project is prompting further speculation.
