Support the Call for a Parliamentary Inquiry

Across Sydney we are seeing the needless destruction of Sydney's trees as a result of poor infrastructure planning.

In the case of Sydney's CBD/SE light rail project, hundreds of Sydney's most majestic and historic trees are being destroyed to make way for light rail. Where light rail and trees can co-exist around the world, in Sydney it's become an embarrassment to our City.

The delivery of major infrastructure projects in NSW needs to change. Help do this by calling on your local MP & Upper House Members to #standup for good goverance by supporting the call for a Parliamentary Inquiry!

The NSW Government is proposing to introduce legislation that removes many of our state's long held environmental protections.  The proposal is currently on exhibition to 28 June.

The proposed regime will result in more land clearing across NSW including urban areas.  As the legislation heavily relies on a biodiversity offsets policy based on the standards of the problematic Major Projects Offsets Policy, this will see a repeat of the problems experienced with the light rail project, where despite a revegeration program there is a signficant net loss in urban tree canopy.

Help raise the awareness about the impact the draft legislation will have, by sending off the message below, which you can personalise.
